DEVENS, MA – Boxborough Police Officer Nathan Bowolick was among seventy-four police officers from across the Commonwealth to receive recognition from the Massachusetts chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) at their annual Drive for Life breakfast on May 18.

Patrolman Bowolick was honored for his commitment to enforcing drunk driving laws on the streets of Boxborough.  He made twenty-three impaired driving arrests in 2010.

“I am very proud of the extraordinary work that Officer Bowolick has done to keep our town a safer place,” said Police Chief Warren Ryder.  “Enforcement of drunk driving laws continues to be a significant challenge for law enforcement, and is one the top priorities of the Boxborough Police.”

Bersani is the grandfather of Melanie Powell for whom the landmark 2005 "Melanie's Law" was named after and was the driving force behind the legislation. He continues to be a strong advocate for improving the drunk driving laws in Massachusetts.
