“Ancient Andean Wisdom for Our Times”

Don Alberto Taxo, a teacher of indigenous wisdom from the Andean mountains of Equador, will be visiting Acton in early June as part of a three-city tour of the Northeast.

Don Alberto, author of the book Friendship with the Elements, speaks eloquently about the planetary crises and opportunities of these times. He recalls the ancient prophecy that the eagle and the condor will fly together in the same sky – meaning that different cultures will work together, complementing each other, respecting and living in harmony with nature and each other.

In Equador, among his Quechua people from the mountainous Cotopaxi region, Don Alberto acts as a community leader and healer. He is also creating Loma de Ensueños—Hillside of Dreams, a land-reclamation and community-building project in his ancestral area.
