Human Trafficking/Modern Day Slavery

Dr. Mei-Mei Ellerman of Polaris Project will show a documentary film and lead a discussion of the issues around this fastest growing crime.

Trafficking is tied with arms-dealing for second place as largest global criminal activity, second only to drugs. Slavery is present in the U.S., affecting 100,000 - 200,000 American-born children.

The event is part of the Jen Haan Memorial Speaker Series, sponsored by the Acton-area League of Women Voters. It is free and open to the public, but donations will be gratefully accepted and given to Polaris Project in support of its anti-trafficking work.
