Pippin

Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz
Book by Roger O. Hirson
Directed by Linda Potter
Musical Direction by Jeanie Furlan
Choreography by Liza Levy

This Tony-award winning musical opened in 1972 to rave reviews for director and choreographer Bob Fosse, leading player Ben Vereen, and composer Stephen Schwartz. An eclectic acting troupe invites the audience to see their story of Pippin, the son of Charlemagne, one of the greatest medieval rulers. Pippin believes he is destined for an extraordinary life if he can only discover what he is meant to do. His search leads him to become a soldier, a politician, an artist, and to a relationship with a young widow named Catherine – but nothing makes him happy. His father is too busy being king to help him. Fastrada, his devious stepmother, is determined to see that her son, Lewis, becomes Charlemagne’s successor. Pippin’s search leads him to the grand finale of the show and a choice that only he can make.

Tickets on sale through the cast in December, at Roche Bros in January. Also at MKTix.com.
