UPDATE: Board Approves Idylwilde Farms Package Store License

Update (Monday, July, 23, 8:30 p.m.): The Board of Selectmen approved the request from Idylwilde Farms for a Beer & Wine Package Store License.

There will be a public hearing tonight in the Faulkner Room of the Acton Town Hall during tonight's Board of Selectmen meeting (7 p.m.) about a request from President of , Thomas F. Napoli, to obtain a Beer & Wine Package Store License.

According to a public document on the Town website, Acton Chief of Police, Frank Widmayer reviewed the application from Idylwilde Farms and approves of the license. The Acton Health department also approves of the license. Senior Vice President of Middlesex Savings Bank, Patrick F. Padden, wrote that they have being doing business with Idylwilde Farms for more than twenty-five years and have never had problems with their financial obligations and welcomes any "opportunity to provide additional financing in whatever form the Company may need."

Conor Nagle of 369 Central Street (across the street from Idylwilde Farms) has no problem with the store obtaining a Beer & Wine Package Store License, but has some other issues he feels have been ignored by the Town. Nagle is upset about two things; truck idling and trash.

Truck Idling:

• Nagle wrote: "The loading docks face the residential neighborhood of Indian Village and the noise of idling trucks and the back-up beeping can be heard every time it occurs. This is specifically an issue before 7am. My family has been awoken between 4am and 7am by these noises on numerous occasions."

Trash:

• Nagle wrote: "We pick up trash from our front yard, that has blown across from Idlewilde, several times a week."

Nagle requests that no deliveries come before 7 a.m. and request trash pickup twice a day.
