Opening Reception for Revolution of the Eye
Join us for a festive evening to celebrate the opening of this exciting exhibition. Free and open to the public.
Friday, April 8, 6:00–8:00 pm
April Vacation Drop-In Family Day
Families are invited to explore Revolution of the Eye through hands-on activities inspired by television shows featured in the exhibition and by stepping in front of the camera for a chance to be on TV. All ages are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Lecture: Modern Art and the Rise of Network Television with Dr. Lynn Spigel, Frances E. Willard Professor of Screen Cultures, School of Communications, Northwestern University. Dr. Spigel will discuss early television’s role in popularizing modernism, and consider how TV continues to influence American tastes and ways of seeing the world. Meet in the Museum Learning Center.

Art 300 Exhibition Opening Reception
This spring, students in the Phillips Academy course Visual Culture: Discovering the Addison Collection will curate an exhibition of works from the Addison’s collection following their investigation of the theme of artists’ travel. Please join us in celebrating the opening of their exhibition.

Lecture: All Hands on Deck! Images of Boating Culture in American Art
In collaboration with Andover Reads at Memorial Hall Library and inspired by The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown, Addison Curatorial Assistant Kelley Tialiou will explore the role of boating in American culture through paintings, watercolors, photographs, and sketches by such artists as Mary Cassatt, Stuart Davis, Winslow Homer, John La Farge, Charles Sheeler, and Stuart Travis from the Addison’s collection and beyond. Meet in the Museum Learning Center.
