Andover High Threat Investigated By Police: ICYMI

Andover police are investigating a threat made at the high school: in case you missed it.

ANDOVER, MA — Andover school officials say classes are still on but there will be increased security after a threat was made against going to Andover High on Wednesday.

Superintendent Sheldon Berman and Andover High School Principal Philip Conrad say an unspecified threat was found scrawled in pencil on a common area wall Tuesday. The 2-inch-by-6-inch threat written in pencil warned against attending school Wednesday, Dec. 21

Officials notified Andover Police, but said they do not believe there is any danger. Police are investigating and there will be an increased police presence Wednesday.

“While we do not believe there is any danger, we have policies and procedures in place, and we believe it is prudent to follow them,” Conrad said. “Superintendent Berman and I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding, and I sincerely apologize for this situation. The safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff is paramount.”
