Did you set a resolution to create more wellness in the New Year for you and your family? Then join Andover DCS for a Night of Meditation on January 28th to enjoy the physical and emotional benefits of this ancient art.
The Night of Meditation will be led by Andover’s own Seth Monk, a Buddhist monk who began his formal practice of meditation at the age of 18 and has been teaching and studying the spiritual practice since. Seth has guided students, businesses, hospitals and schools in integrating peace into their daily lives around the world, and now returns home to Andover to share this evening of insight, humor, and meditative peace with the community.
On a physical level, meditation has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety attacks, decrease tension-related pain, improve the immune system, and increase energy. With regular practice, meditation has been shown to have many mental & emotional benefits as well, including decreased anxiety, emotional stability, and improved clarity and peace of mind.

Those who gather together during the Night of Meditation will learn the art of inner relaxation and tranquil calm. No Experience is necessary and Seth guarantees that you will leave the session with a smile on your face and in your heart.
The Night of Meditation will run at Andover High School in the Yoga Room from 7:00-8:30 PM on January 28th. It is just $10/person to attend, and pre-registration is required. A weekly meditation is also available through DCS beginning Thursday, February 4th, and will also be led by Seth Monk.

Night of Meditation

DCS warmly invites you to join Andover’s second, Night of Meditation with Seth Monk. Last year, Seth’s meditation at the Memorial Hall Library in Andover drew a crowd of over 70 residents to sit and share in peace. This year, we are looking forward to a memorable evening of insight, humor, and meditative peace as we gather together to learn the art of inner relaxation and tranquil calm. Seth will cover the basics of sitting and walking meditation and will share insights into the workings of the peaceful mind. No experience is needed to join and you are guaranteed to leave with a smile on your face (and in your heart). Please wear warm/comfortable clothing and bring a small blanket or cushion.

Meditation
Meditation is the ancient art of tranquil peace that is available to everyone, providing us with an unlimited wellspring of calmness and joy that can be accessed at any time. In this six-week class led by Seth Monk, Seth will share insights into calming the mind and lead guided group sitting & walking meditations, giving participants a first-hand experience of meditation, and provide a framework to bring the practice home. This class is open to beginners as well as advanced sitters and is guaranteed to bring some peace into your life. Please wear warm/comfortable clothing and bring a small blanket or cushion.
