Driver charged in fatal OUI crash in North Reading, Massachusetts that left father, young daughter dead due in court (wcvb.com) — An Andover father, 35-year-old Samir Naili, and his 8-year-old daughter Kashmera, a student in Andover Public Schools, were killed in a fiery suspected OUI crash in North Reading. A 21-year-old Paxton man faces felony motor vehicle homicide and related charges, as devastated relatives remember the close-knit pair and thank first responders who tried to save them.
   

2. Aug. 21-23 Public Safety Notebook: Door-Banging Reports, Missing 5-Year-Old And Apparent Home Break-In Keep Police Busy (andovermanews.com) — Andover police and firefighters handled a busy Aug. 21–23 stretch, from late-night door-banging complaints in several neighborhoods to a missing 5-year-old safely found at a Tech Drive hotel. Crews also checked a child's electrical mishap on Archer Lane, investigated a Lovejoy Road break-in, and extinguished a construction debris fire on Jenkins Road.
   

3. Somerville organizations awarded funding from MassCEC (thesomervilletimes.com) — Andover's Reframe Systems is receiving a major $800,000 boost from the state's new climatetech tax incentive program to expand its high-tech homebuilding microfactories. The package also showcases Sen. Barry Finegold's role in steering clean-energy economic development, with 17 other climatetech firms statewide sharing $27.2 million in incentives aimed at jobs, innovation, and lower energy costs.
   

4. Topsfield Fair Awards $157K In Scholarships To 36 North Shore HS Graduates (patch.com) — An Andover student, Olivia Correia-Branco, is among 36 North Shore graduates sharing $157,000 in Topsfield Fair and Essex Agricultural Society scholarships. The awards recognize community-minded teens from across the region, with applications for the 2027 graduating class expected early next year and this year's Topsfield Fair running Oct. 2–12.
