Town Seeking Input on Facilities Study

The meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the Cormier Youth Center.

Andover, MA - Town and school officials are holding a public forum on Wednesday night, February 24 at 6:30 p.m. to exchange ideas and feedback on the “Facilities Assessment” being conducted by MGT of America.

The town has selected MGT, a firm with extensive national experience in school and municipal facility assessments and planning, to evaluate the condition of all municipal buildings.

The assessment will culminate in a 10-year master plan to help the town better plan for future capital expenditures.

Building Condition - Evaluating roofing, windows, mechanical and electrical systems, etc.
Education Suitability - Evaluating how well the facility supports the educational program, such as if the building has the appropriate kinds of spaces and if the spaces are of appropriate size.
Technology Readiness - Evaluating how well the building’s infrastructure supports information technology.

In addition to the facilities assessment the firm hired will perform a capacity & utilization analysis for the district’s schools and administrative offices noted above.

The meeting, which will run from 6:30-10:00 p.m., will be held at The Cormier Youth Center (behind the Doherty Middle School) located at 40 Whittier Ct.
