4 Pot Shop Proposals Received In Arlington

Hearings will be held at a Select Board meeting later this month.

ARLINGTON, MA — Four marijuana shop applications were submitted to the Arlington Select Board ahead of the May 3 deadline, according to YourArlington. Hearings will be held at the Select Board's meeting on Wednesday, May 20, the site reported.

Two applicants – Apothca and an affiliate of Northeastern Alternatives – appeared before the Select Board in March. Apotcha is seeking to move to the Swifty Printing storefront on Mass. Ave., where they would also offer recreational marijuana. An affiliate of Northeastern Alternatives, recreational and medical marijuana dispensary in Fall River, told the Select Board he and a partner would like to open a shop in the former Embassy Cleaners spot on Mass. Ave.

Town Meeting voted in December to allow Arlington to approve up to three licenses each for recreational and medical marijuana dispensaries.
