6 CPA-Funded Projects Recommended To Arlington Town Meeting
The town has over $2 million in projected funds in 2018.

ARLINGTON, MA – Arlington selectmen this week recommended six projects using Community Preservation Act funds to the Arlington Town Meeting in April, YourArlington first reported. The total projected CPA funds in 2018 is $2,348,267.
In 2014, voters approved the Community Preservation Act, which funds projects pertaining to affordable housing, recreation, open space and historic preservation.
Below are the six projects that will go before the Town Meeting to receive CPA funding:

- Downing Square/Broadway Initiative: $500,000 - Housing Corporation of Arlington: Affordable housing units at 19R Park Ave. and 117 Broadway
- Mill Brook Linear Park Pilot- Wellington Park Phase II: $172,523 - Mystic River Watershed Association: pilot improvements on town-owned land

- Preservation of Exterior Envelope of Old Schwamb Mill: $82,000 - Schwamb Mill Preservation Trust: preservation efforts at site
- Arlington Reservoir Design and Engineering and Phase I Construction: $991,000 - Park and Recreation Commission: replacement of pump house equipment and building rehab
- Historic Preservation of the Jason Russell House: $72,348 - Arlington Historical Society: preservation efforts at historic site
- Hardy Elementary Playground Study: $39,500 - School Department/Town of Arlington: study on playground needs at Hardy School
