The department is emphasizing the importance of securing vehicles and removing valuables from view. Residents are always asked to lock their vehicles, even when parked in driveways, never leave keys or key fobs inside, and close all windows and sunroofs when leaving vehicles unattended.

“These simple steps can significantly reduce the likelihood of theft and help keep our neighborhoods safe,” the department said in a statement.

Community members who observe suspicious activity are encouraged to contact the Arlington Police Department at 617-643-1212.
