Arlington Police Warning Residents After Vehicle Break-in Epidemic

ARLINGTON, MA — The police department is warning residents following a recent increase in motor vehicle thefts and break-ins throughout the community.

According to police, many of the reported incidents involved vehicles that were left unlocked and with key inside.

The department is emphasizing the importance of securing vehicles and removing valuables from view. Residents are always asked to lock their vehicles, even when parked in driveways, never leave keys or key fobs inside, and close all windows and sunroofs when leaving vehicles unattended.

“These simple steps can significantly reduce the likelihood of theft and help keep our neighborhoods safe,” the department said in a statement.
