ARLINGTON, MA — A resident was arrested after police say he exposed himself inside a vehicle parked near Arlington High School.
Luis Boston, 39, was arrested on Thursday, June 18 and charged with open and gross lewdness, according to the Arlington Police Department.
The charge stems from an incident reported around 11:45 a.m. on Friday, June 12. Police said a school resource officer received a report that a man was exposing himself inside a dark-colored SUV parked on Massachusetts Avenue near Arlington High School.
According to police, the vehicle was not on school property and the incident was reported by students returning to school from lunch. School administrators were immediately notified, and officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
Additional patrols were assigned to the area as investigators worked to identify the suspect. During the investigation, a second student came forward and reported a separate incident involving the same man, police said.
Authorities later identified the vehicle involved and its owner through what police described as an extensive investigation.
The Arlington Police Department thanked Arlington Public Schools and the students who reported the incidents, saying their prompt actions helped investigators identify and apprehend Boston. He has since been arraigned in Cambridge District Court.
