Another Truck Slams Into Grove Street Bridge In Arlington

Once again, a truck slammed into the Grove Street Bridge in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, MA — This afternoon a delivery truck attempted to drive down Grove Street but didn't make it when the truck's roof struck the Grove Street Bridge and peeled back the top of the truck.

By now most Arlington residents know the drill: Police closed the road to traffic while folks worked to get the truck unstuck until police reopened the road around 1:45 p.m.

This is not the first time a truck has gotten stuck under the bridge. Check out the photos of when a tractor trailer attempted to drive down Grove Street.

Still, since Jan 1, until today, only 2 incidents of trucks hitting the Grove St Bridge have been reported to Arlington Police. The one that happened in May and this one, according to police data.

There's a term in the Boston area for this, and some joke that Arlington could get it's own name. In Boston it's called getting "storrowed," named for what happens when a truck - often a moving truck - misjudges its height and gets stuck on Storrow drive.
