The district has hired dozens of new teachers and will have two new principals this year.

ARLINGTON, MA – The start of school, believe it or not, is just around the corner. The first day of school for all grades is Tuesday, Sept. 4. You can see more important school dates on the Arlington school calendar here.
Enrollment across the Arlington Public Schools is 5,860 students, which is a 230-student increase from last year. Superintendent Kathleen Bodie said enrollment numbers fluctuate as the start of school approaches, and final numbers are not typically available until November.
Arlington has 11 schools – one preschool, seven elementary schools, a newly opened school serving sixth graders, a middle school and a high school. Arlington is also part of the Minuteman Regional School District.
