Arlington Community Education classes start next week

Spring is the perfect time to learn something new! Register now for Arlington Community Education (ACE) classes for adults and youth. A new term starts next week. See all classes and register at www.ArlingtonCommunityEd.org.

There are nearly 200 adult classes to choose from, including 40 new offerings. Most classes are held online via Zoom in the evening. There are also daytime and weekend options, socially-distanced walking tours and fitness classes, and a limited number of classes that will run in-person on Tuesday nights at Arlington High School. Most Fitness & Dance, Language, Fine Arts & Crafts, and Music & Theater classes start next week and run for 8–10 sessions. Shorter multi-week and one-night classes begin each week through early June, in categories including Food & Drink; Home & Garden; Writing & Literature; Career, Technology & Finance; Recreation; and Wellness.

For youth, a new semester of ACE Kids classes begins next week. Most classes will be held online, organized by category including arts & crafts, fitness & dance, STEM, languages, life skills, and more. There are several outdoor, in-person classes such as the new Spring Running Intensive for sixth graders and Parkour Outdoors for ages 8-12. There is also a selection of classes for high school students including 11 new sessions of Driver’s Ed between April and August.

Registration is also open for SummerFun!, which will run in-person for six weeks from July 6–August 13 at Ottoson Middle School for grades 1–9. More than 100 fun and creative classes in STEM, sports, games, art, music, theater, dance, nature, languages, and field trips, are led by qualified classroom teachers. Individual half day classes are offered in the mornings (9:00-12:00) and afternoons (1:00-4:00), or combine both with a supervised lunch hour, which is included for full-day students. Optional extended day is also available mornings and afternoons. Families from Arlington and other communities are welcome. ACE will also offer a variety of online classes including cooking, art, and STEM.
