Arlington Community Education Now Enrolling

It’s a busy time of year at Arlington Community Education. Registration is now open for the spring term of adult and youth classes, as well as the SummerFun! and VacationFun! youth enrichment programs. Enroll at www.ArlingtonCommunityEd.org.

The spring term of classes for adults and youth begins the week of April 5. Among the nearly 200 adult classes, almost 40 are new. A limited number will run in-person on Tuesday nights at Arlington High School. There are nearly 50 online classes for youth and teens, as well as several outdoor, in-person classes including parkour and Mass Audubon Habitat. Outdoor offerings for adults, families, and kids have been expanded, and include walking tours, landscape painting, and hikes. New this spring is a partnership with the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, designed to connect and support local businesses, plus a collaboration with area museums including Zoo New England.

Arlington Community Education offers youth enrichment programs during school vacations, designed to appeal to kids of many interests with courses taught by experienced classroom teachers. April 2021 VacationFun! will be a combination of in-person and online classes. The program will run from April 20–23, both at Ottoson Middle School and online for students in grades K–8. In-person classes will be mornings only, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and strictly follow all current APS Covid protocols. This year, in-person classes are open to Arlington residents only. Virtual classes are open to residents from any town or state.

SummerFun! will run in-person for six weeks from July 6–August 13 at Ottoson Middle School, with over 100 fun and creative classes in STEM, sports, games, art, music, theater, dance, nature, languages, and field trips for youth in grades 1-9. Choose individual classes in the mornings (9:00-12:00), afternoons (1:00-4:00), or combine both for a full day. Optional extended day is also available. Families from Arlington and other communities are welcome. For those looking for virtual programming, ACE will also offer a variety of online classes including cooking, art, and STEM.
