Arlington Community Education Winter 2021 Registration Now Open
Hundreds of classes for adults, teens and kids
Arlington Community Education (ACE) winter 2021 registration is now open. Catalogs are on the way to Arlington mailboxes and viewable online in an interactive, clickable format. Along with more than 150 classes for adults and nearly 60 for youth and teens, this term’s catalog features the painting, “Winter Bouquet” by Cover Art Contest winner Anastasia Semash. Anastasia is an artist and educator living in Arlington who has taught ACE classes for children and adults for the past five years.
Most of Anastasia’s work is inspired by natural objects, including florals and landscapes. “Winter Bouquet” symbolizes the coming of winter with its composition of dry Chinese lanterns, setaria grass, and red ferns on the black background. The delicate Chinese lanterns wrap the fragile berries, alluding to protection and care. Visit www.artsemash.com to see more of Anastasia’s art.
“The ACE staff was especially drawn to the striking color of ‘Winter Bouquet’, and the drama of the delicate cascading leaves with the one lone fallen Chinese lantern. We love how, as Anastasia says, it alludes to protection and care—something we all need right now,” said director Jen Rothenberg. “We’re also absolutely thrilled to be able to feature the artwork of one of our longtime instructors, and let students know that they can come learn how to paint from this talented artist herself!”
If you do not receive a printed catalog in the mail and would like one, please fill out the catalog request form on the Community Ed website. Catalogs are also available in the high school lobby and in news bins near the Capitol Theater and Trader Joes.
