Arlington To Host Dialogue About Bus Rapid Transit Pilot

The town is partnering with True Story Theater to feature a dramatized community dialogue about the pilot program, set to launch this fall.

ARLINGTON, MA – The Arlington Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) is partnering with True Story Theater to host a community dialogue on bus rapid transit (BRT) on Wednesday, July 11, at the Robbins Library Community Room, 700 Massachusetts Avenue. The event begins at 7pm.

During the fall 2018, with support from the Barr Foundation, the Town of Arlington will pilot BRT
elements on Massachusetts Avenue, serving MBTA bus routes 77, 79, and 350, with the goals of
reducing traffic congestion and lowering carbon emissions. True Story Theater’s community dialogue
will feature an interactive performance that will dramatize participant’s visions, needs, and impressions
related to the pilot. This event provides DPCD with an exciting opportunity to receive feedback from the
community in a unique setting where participants are encouraged to communicate effectively with each
other.

True Story Theater is funded in part by the Arlington Cultural Council and the National Endowment for
the Arts. For more information about True Story Theater, please visit https://truestorytheater.com/.
