Arlington HS Building Committee Selects New Construction
The School Building Authority is expected to vote on the committee's recommended design in July.
ARLINGTON, MA – The Arlington High School Building Committee has selected a design for a new high school to recommend to the state. The committee voted 15-1 Tuesday to submit option 3a to the Massachusetts School Building Authority, according to Wicked Local.
The design is a new building that would move the auditorium to the front of the school and provide "swing space" to limit the need for modular classrooms during construction. It could also incorporate historic parts of the current building.
Documents published by YourArlington indicate the project cost is estimated at about $308 million, with the town footing about $211 million. It is the second-cheapest of the four final designs.

The MSBA is expected to vote on the design in July.
