Arlington Names New Fire Chief
Kevin Kelley has been a member of the Arlington Fire Department since 1994, most recently serving as its deputy chief.

ARLINGTON, MA — The town has named Kevin Kelley its new fire chief, Arlington Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine announced Monday. Kelley has been a member of the Arlington Fire Department since 1994, most recently serving as its deputy chief.
Kelley will oversee more than 70 firefighters and civilian personnel and serve as the town's Emergency Management Coordinator. Kelley began his tenure as chief on June 26.
"I am pleased that Kevin has accepted this new role," Arlington Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine said in a statement. "Chief Kelley has an exemplary record with the department and for his public service in fire prevention. He also brings a wealth of technical expertise and a collaborative spirit that all will benefit from."

Kelley has served as a SAFE Coordinator and instructor since the program's inception in 1995. He has also been a Training Officer and Fire Prevention Officer. Before joining the Arlington Fire Department, he was an information systems analyst and served as a fire suppression specialist in the United States Air Force.
Kelley was awarded Firefighter of the Year in 2015.

"My entire career in fire prevention has been with Arlington and it’s an honor to be chosen to lead the department," Kelley said in a statement. "I look forward to working with Town officials, employees, and the public to continue the department’s work in fire prevention and safety."
