Arlington Patriots' Day Parade Returns after 1-Year Hiatus

The town has met its fundraising goal in order to hold the parade.

ARLINGTON, MA—After a one-year hiatus, the town of Arlington will be holding its Patriots' Day Parade once again.

The town announced late Thursday that the parade will be returning, thanks to the fundraising goal being met. The late Ken Simmons will serve as Grand Marshall, with his family serving in his place.

"We are so pleased and thankful for the overwhelming amount of support from donors and sponsors for this year's parade," said Board of Selectmen, Chair, Kevin Greeley in the announcement. "This outpouring of support allows us to renew a great town tradition."

The festivities will begin at 8:45 with the Arlington Boys and Girls Club Fun Run, followed by the Menotomy Battle re-enactment at 12. The parade is set to begin at two, and the town will be using #ArlPats2016 social media tag.
