Arlington Police Arrest 2 On Drug Charges

The pair were arrested after trying to sell drugs to an undercover Arlington officer Friday, police said.

ARLINGTON, MA — Two men were arrested after trying to sell drugs to an undercover police officer in Arlington Friday, police said. Authorities began investigating 45-year-old Michael Brown, of Dedham, in mid-February after learning he may be selling drugs in Arlington, according to police.

Around 11:40 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, Brown and 36-year-old Theodore Babbitt, of Somerville, arrived at a Gardner Street apartment after setting up a meeting with an undercover officer, police said. Two undercover officers were waiting at the apartment and arrested the pair following the meeting.

Officers found 15.5 grams of methamphetamine on Brown at the time of his arrest, police said. He was charged with drug law violation and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Brown also had a felony arrest warrant out of West Roxbury District Court on a charge of larceny over $1,200.

Babbitt was charged with conspiracy to violate drug law. He also had a warrant for his arrest out of Cambridge District Court on a charge of drug possession and a warrant out of Somerville District Court on motor vehicle charges.
