Arlington Police, Arrest Log: Operating Under the Influence, Stolen iPhone

ARLINGTON, MA—The following is an excerpt from the Arlington police log, as well as the Adult Arrest Log.
Friday, June 17: A person had reported that her gold iPhone had been stolen from the employee break room at the Fox Library. She stated that two people had come and picked up donated books, and that no one else would have had access to the room. Police spoke to the employer of the two people, who later searched the parties and could not find the phone. The matter is still under investigation.
Saturday, June 18: Police responded to a pedestrian hit-and-run accident on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Daniel Street. A man had stated that he had gotten off the 77 bus and had been crossing the street with another man when he was struck by a vehicle. The man he was walking with stated that he had been in front of the man when he was hit, and that the vehicle sped up after striking the man. The man was transported by Armstrong ambulance to the Lahey clinic which later determined that the man may have fractured his elbow. The Middlesex County District Attorney's office Vehicular homicide unit was alerted to the incident as a precaution due to the nature of the incident.

Sunday, June 19: Police responded to a hit-and-run accident on Concord Turnpike. Investigation later determined that a 2004 green vehicle slammed into a 2004 chevy equinox. The operator of the green vehicle fled the scene on foot. Police found drug paraphernalia in the green vehicle, and are still trying to determine who owns the vehicle. The matter is still under investigation.
Monday, June 20: Police arrested Athos Souza, 26, of Everett on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol (first offense), an equipment violation and a marked lane violation.
