Arlington Police Encouraging Residents to Attend Community Candlelight Vigil
The candlelight vigil will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 31, at Arlington High School.

In lieu of what would have been our third Arlington A.C.T.S. meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 1, Arlington Police are instead encouraging all members of the community to attend Arlington Overcoming Addiction‘s first Candlelight Memorial Vigil to remember those who we have lost to the disease of addiction.
Police said in their Facebook post, “It is fitting that this also happens to fall on the International Overdose Awareness Day which is held globally each year to raise the awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths. It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have met with death or permanent injury as a result of drug overdose.”
The candlelight vigil will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 31, at Arlington High School.
