Arlington Police Logs: IRS Scam Involving iTunes Gift Cards|Hit and Run With Egg Truck
Excerpts from the Arlington Police Logs.

ARLINGTON, MA—Here are some excerpts from the Arlington Police Logs logged from May 5-10:
May 5:
7:21 p.m.: Police received a report from a citizen saying that a vehicle had struck her parked car on Lakehill Ave. She may have had a suspect, and police are investigating.

May 6:
8:14 a.m.: Police received a report from a party who stated that their rear window was smashed on Broadway. There was glass all inside the vehicle, but no other cars in the driveway were damage.

May 7:
8:19 a.m.: Police received a report of a truck who struck a parked car. A woman found her car with damaged, and someone else had witnessed the accident and left his contact information. The witness was unsure if the driver had even noticed that he hit the vehicle. The truck was a Ryder truck rental leased by an egg company out of Billerica. The matter is still under investigation.
1:29 p.m.: A woman and daughter reported an assault and battery that occurred on May 6 during at the High Rock Church Youth Group. The daughter was allegedly pushed over and layed on top of by a Germaine Lawrence student, causing the alleged victim to have an asthma attack. The party was advised that they could seek the complaint in court and to notify the Ottoson school, which the alleged victim attends.
May 8:
7:02 a.m.: Police responded to the area of Broadway and Winter St. for a car which crashed into a parked vehicle. The woman could not recall what happened, and stated that she was working late and must have fallen asleep. She was cited for reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
May 9:
7:27 p.m.: Police responded to Lockeland Ave to investigate a woman being scammed over the phone. Police identified themselves to the suspect, who later stated "(expletive) you, you (expletive)." The woman had given the scammers the numbers for two iTunes gift cards both worth $500 each, and had purchased two more gift cards.
May 10:
11:30 a.m.: Police responded to Varnum St. for a dispute between neighbors. A neighbor had reported another neighbor's gas grill to the Arlington Fire Department. The owner of the grill later confronted the reporting party, and an argument ensued. The husband of the grill owner later said he would injure the reporting party with a broomstick if he ever spoke to his wife again. The reporting party did not wish to pursue or file threat reports.
8:05 p.m.: Police responded to a report of an assault and battery. A witness told police that her friend, who had recently had hip surgery, was walking across Sunnyside Ave. A car pulled up and a female operator got out of the car and words were exchanged. The operator pushed the reporting party's friend to the ground and the parties exchanged punches. The friend suffered a scratch on the right side of her face. The matter is still under investigation.
