Arlington Power Outages: Power Restored to Over 1,000 Residents

Over 1,000 Arlington residents briefly lost power services Monday afternoon.

ARLINGTON, MA — Over 1,000 Arlington residents briefly lost power service Monday afternoon, according to the Eversource power outage map.

As of 12:47 p.m., the map indicated that 1,219 Arlington residents were without power service, totaling 6 percent of Eversource's customers. At 1:02 p.m., Eversource's power outage map indicated that all power service had been restored to the area.

Eversource spokeswoman Rhiannon D'Angelo told Patch that there was an equipment failure in East Arlington, that crews were able to quickly fix within 20 minutes of power going out. Residents on the Arlington List Facebook Page reported that there were power outages in East Arlington and Arlington Center.

It's always smart to check your refrigerator temperature after any power outage, no matter how long power is out. According to foodsafety.gov, you should check the temperature inside of your refrigerator and freezerand discard any perishable food items that have been above 40 degrees for two hours or more.
