Arlington Receives Grant to Repair, Replace Residential Heating Systems

The grants will fund repairs and replacements for low-income households.

ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington residents who qualify could be eligible for repairs and replacements on their heating systems, thanks to a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development.

The Town announced Thursday that the Department of Planning and Community Development has been awarded a $293,510 grant to provide heating system repair and replacement services for low income eligible households. Heating system services will vary depending on the specific needs of the home.

Private-sector heating system contractors will provide services, with the homeowner's dealer of record utilized whenever possible. According to the town's announcement, it will attempt to the greatest extent possible to leverage funds through utility grants that have been received by the Planning and Community Development Department to supplement this award for heating system replacements.
