Arlington Select Board Names Interim Replacement For Greeley

Kevin Greeley, the town's longest-serving select board member, died in November at the age of 68.

ARLINGTON, MA – Retired Arlington Select Board member Clarissa Rowe is returning to the board – for now. On Monday Rowe was named the interim replacement for Kevin Greeley, the town's longest-serving selectman who died Nov. 24 at the age of 68.

Rowe served as a Select Board member from 2006-2012. She will hold Greeley's seat until the town election on April 6 and resign from the Community Preservation Act Committee to avoid a conflict of interest, according to the Arlington Advocate.

Board members said earlier this month they were looking for a candidate who could "hit the ground running" but would not run for a full term.
