The project will transform the Senior Center and Health and Human Services offices.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Central School Renovation Project will start this month, town officials said Monday. Work will be done on the interior and exterior of the building over the next year into spring 2021.

The contractor is expected to start on-site work March 16. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and additional work on Saturdays will need approval from the town.

The project will transform the Senior Center and Health and Human Services offices. Senior Center programming has been moved to other locations as of Monday, March 9. The details of those program locations can be found at arlingtonma.gov/coa.

Initial work at the site includes permitting, delivering the field office trailer, building construction fencing and setting up a dumpster, storage boxes and temporary partitions. Several parking spaces will be used by the contractor, and the rear patio and entry will be fenced off.

The work will occur in phases to ensure that tenants and visitors have two exits at all times. Entry to and exit from the building will be maintained and clearly identified during construction.
