Arlington Town Budget Receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
This is the four straight year that the town budget has won the award.
ARLINGTON, MA — The FY 2017 Arlington Town Budget has received the Government Finance Officers Association's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, the town announced Tuesday. This is the fourth straight year that the Town's budget has received the award.
The Town of Arlington had to to satifsy "nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation," including the following:
- A policy document
- A financial plan
- An operations guide
- A communication device.
According to the town's announcement, budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories, and the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories to receive the award. For budgets beginning in 2015, 1,565 participants received the award, according to the town's announcement.
