The MSBA has agreed to fund nearly 30 percent of the project, and the rest will be funded by a debt exclusion to be voted on in June.

ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington Town Meeting members overwhelmingly supported the Arlington High School Building Project at a Special Town Meeting Monday night. The project was approved 208-10, with two abstentions.

The Massachusetts School Building Authority this month announced $83.4 million in funding toward the $290 million project. The remaining $207 million will be subject to a debt exclusion vote June 11.

The school would be one of the most expensive schools built in the state, according to the Arlington Advocate. Similar school building projects in the area have fallen in the $250 million to $300 million range due to a construction boom in Boston, the publication reported.
