Arlington's Noel Buck Called To U-19 England National Soccer Team
The 18-year-old New England Revolution midfielder remains eligible to represent the U.S. and is on U.S. head coach Gregg Berhalter's radar.
FOXBOROUGH, MA — Arlington native Noel Buck, an 18-year-old midfielder for the New England Revolution, received his first call-up to the U-19 England Men's National Team on Friday.
Buck, who has started 15 of the Rev's 18 MLS games this season, is eligible to play for the U.S. England and Wales, the latter two because he has a UK passport through his father
The former Arlington High School student previously played with the U.S. U-19 team, and he still can choose to represent the U.S. after playing for England's U-19s.

Buck, a Revolution Academy graduate, was selected to play with the England team in a pair of international friendlies against Germany (Sept. 6) and Switzerland (Sept. 9) at the Oliva Nova Sports Center in Valencia, Spain.
There had been speculation that Buck would be named to the U.S. Senior Men's National Team when manager Gregg Berhalter named the squad earlier this week.

Buck did not make the cut, but Berhalter told reporters he's been in touch with Buck, who has scored two goals during a breakout 2023 season.
"He's been great. He's been really strong," Berhalter said about Buck, according to Pro Soccer Wire. "
Berhalter continued: "I have spoken to him. There has been interest from England, which I think is great. Great achievement, when you have a country like England looking at you. I've communicated with him, told him that we see him as a player that can compete to make the World Cup team in 2026, based on what he's doing now. We see — if he continues to develop at that rate — I'm sure he can be competitive and compete to be on the roster."
Earlier this week, Tom Bogert, of The Athletic, reported that Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League had been interested in trying to acquire Buck this summer.
However, Bogert told Caught Offside TV that Buck's transfer value had escalated beyond what the team was willing to spend currently.
"Noel Buck, I think that he's absolutely going to end up somewhere in England because he has a UK passport," Bogert said.
Bogert continued: "Tottenham had been interested in him, but he very quickly kind of played himself out of their price point because they were looking to get somebody very cheap before he really made his debut and made his name in MLS. This is a player that's going to cost $5 million to $10 million, so he's probably going to go to a different English team, almost definitely this winter."
