Arlington's Patriots Day Parade 2017: Town Now Accepting Nominations for Grand Marshal

Do you know of someone who has served the town with distinction? The Patriots Day committee wants to know.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Patriots’ Day Committee set Sunday, April 23rd as the date for 2017 parade. The Committee seeks nominations for the 2017 Parade Grand Marshal. The Grand Marshal role has historically been an individual in Arlington that has served the Town with distinction and made significant contributions to Arlington. The Honorary Grand Marshal has the honor of riding in a convertible in the parade. Please send nominations to boh@town.arlington.ma.us or mail nominations by March 1 to:

Please include the following information with your nomination:
• Name of the person you are nominating
• Reason you believe they should be Honorary Grand Marshal
• Name and Contact Information of the person/group making the nomination

The 2017 Patriots Day Parade will begin its route at Brattle Square in Arlington Heights at 2:00 p.m., traveling down Mass Ave to the Linwood Street area in East Arlington. For more information about the Parade and other activities that will be held on parade day please visit: arlingtonma.gov/parade.
The Parade in Arlington has historically taken place on the Sunday before the Patriots’ Day holiday. Due to that date being Easter Sunday, the Parade has been moved to the Sunday following Patriots’ Day. The Patriots’ Day Parade Committee also seeks donations and sponsors to run the Parade.
