ARMUN STUDENTS Take on Challenge to "Live Below the Line" -- seek sponsors and team members this week

Arlington Regional Model UN and Civic Engagment Program High School and Middle School Students are "living below the line" for UNICEF!

The High School Model UN, Civic Engagement & UNICEF USA Club of ARMUN has joined forces with its younger peers, the ARMUN Middle School Model UN & Civic Engagement Club, and formed a team to take the challenge to ”live below the line” for five days from April 27 - May 5. The challenge is to live spending $1.50 or less per person per day on all food and drink for those five days, representing the mere $1.50 per day a person living in extreme poverty has to cover all his/her expenses. In doing so one gets a bit of a sense of what it would be like to live in that much poverty, and the team members and their families will donate back the money they would normally have spent on food and drink to UNICEF via the ”Live Below the Line Challenge” website, thereby actually helping bring an end to the injustice of extreme poverty. We ask all who are able to either sponsor our team by making a donation to UNICEF from our team page:

or join us and take the challenge - either the full challenge to live on $1.50 per day per person for food and drink or even a modified challenge where you give up coffee, juice, soda, bottled water and only drink tap water, or you give up meat and dessert, or whatever you can do to feel a little bit of what it would be like to not be able to have everything you wanted or needed and you can save some money and donate it back through the Live Below the Line Challenge program. Feel free to join our team if you want to sign up to take the challenge in whatever form you are able.
