Just got word from a teacher in Arlington that this Town is about to spend $120,000 plus per year for two Supervisors of Custodians. Really? There's only 25 or so custodians left in this Town. Is there really a need for this? And where is this money coming from? Our ever increasing taxes, that's where. From what I understand, there is custodial vacancies that haven't been filled, resulting in sub-par cleaning of these buildings. And now they're creating a $65,000 per year position? This is absolutely outrageous! There has only been one Supervisor of Custodians over the years with as many as 50 custodians on the job, now they want two supervisors for 25 of them. I'm at a loss for words. Oh, I forgot about the private cleaning contractors at the Ottoson Middle School. They do a terrible cleaning job and steal anything that's not tied down (teachers cell phones, money, computers, kids clothes etc).....great use of money.
