Rockies 23, Braves 11
Down 10 runs early, the Harris Plumbing and Heating Rockies came back to defeat the Foodmaster Braves, 23-11, to even the championship series at one game apiece. The game featured a 10-run inning by the Braves to start the contest and a 9-run inning to cap the comeback by the Rockies.
The Foodmaster Braves jumped out to a big lead in the first inning on a number of walks and RBI hits by Theordore Ronayne, Anthony Kellerman, Connor Farrell, and Carl Conti. The Braves sent 14 men to the plate and scored ten times, with every member of the starting lineup scoring in their first at bat. Marcus Messuri came in pitch in relief for the Rockies near the end of that long first inning.

In the bottom of the first for the Rockies' Jackson Foster reached on an error and advanced to third on a stolen base and a wild pitch. Henry Feinstein knocked him in with a grounder to first making the score 10-1.
Messuri quickly settled in for the Rockies and kept the Braves off the scoreboard in the second. In the bottom of that inning the Rockies scored five times with several base runners reaching on walks and a few errors. Henry Feinstein knocked in two with a single.

In the third the Braves scored their eleventh run, which turned out to be their last. Messuri held the Braves hitless in the last four innings and struck out eight. He was supported defensively by several solid plays by Jackson Foster at short and a number of fine stretches by Jimbo Doherty at first.
In the bottom of the third the Rockies put together their biggest rally, scoring nine to take the lead and sending 13 to the plate. Henry Feinstein and Zach Clark each had two-run doubles. All together the Rockies had seven hits in the inning. In the fourth Seaghan Kineen’s two-out double drove in Clark as the Rockies tacked on insurance runs.
Rockies’ catcher Ryan Ahern played another solid game behind the plate, throwing out a runner trying to steal third and catching seven innings for the second day in a row in extreme heat.
Game 3 will be played at Peirce Field at 6 p.m.
