First up is the Friends of Spy Pond Park (FSPP) clean up day. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can go and help clean weeds and trash from 's beautiful beach and shores. They always appreciate the help! I have been to interview Karen Grossman, president of FSPP, for Wicked Green. I even bought a t-shirt! They have done some great work in the past few years, from newsletters to events to informing the public about what they can do to help. They're always looking for new volunteers to come and join the cause, which I encourage everyone to do. The rain date is Sunday, July 17, 1-4 p.m.
The second event is Arlington's from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can drop off your pesticides, paints and cleaners at the Minuteman Hazardous Waste Facility, located at 60 Hartwell Avenue in Lexington. There is a list of approved and not approved items to bring . Clean out your basement and make the world a safer, cleaner place by bringing our waste here.
