Cambridge Italian Restaurant Closes its Doors

A culinary event company is filling the space of the Italian restaurant popular amongst Arlington residents.

CAMBRIDGE, MA—An Italian restaurant in Cambridge, which is located just under ten minutes from Arlington Town Hall, has recently closed its doors.

Erin Miller, the owner and executive chef of Urban Hearth, told Patch that L'Impasto had its final service on Saturday. Urban Hearth is a boutique culinary event and catering company, and is occupying the space formerly filled by L'Impasto.

"We were sad to see L'Impasto go, but we couldn't be more happy to be in this part of Cambridge," Miller told Patch.

L'Impasto owner Riccardo Passini told Patch that he was forced to sell his restaurant due to health issues. 

Miller, and her Arlington-based business partner Lia Hussain, are planning to turn the space into a cafe' during the daytime and a supper club in the evenings.

L'Impasto had been open since 2011, and was named the "best Italian restaurant" in the Boston area in 2012 by Boston's Hidden Restaurants. The restaurant was very popular among Arlington residents.

According to a post on the Urban Hearth Facebook page, the restaurant has already begun renovations and rebranding, with the licensing and re-branding process underway as well.
