Cape Cod Burger Joint Moving to Arlington?

See what appears to be in the works.

Retro Burger & Ice Cream, a West Yarmouth burger joint, appears to be trying to move to Arlington.

The restaurant’s owner, Bill Maund, is scheduled to go before the Board of Selectmen Monday night (see agenda) for a common victualler, or operating, license for “Retro Burger & Ice Cream” for 795 Mass. Ave., the former home of Cakes Bakery & Cafe.

“Retro Burger wants to thank all of our wonderful and loyal customers who have visited us on Cape Cod over the last three seasons. However, we have decided to move the store into the Boston market. Please check back for further updates.”

The restaurant opened at 44 Route 28 in West Yarmouth in 2010.

Its menu features a variety of burgers ($8 or $6 depending on the size) and hot dogs ($6), as well as Richardson’s ice cream.
