Capitol Theatre Holding Art Competition Through Jan. 31
Local artists will compete to design a mural that will be displayed on the building's exterior.

Want a chance to see your art displayed on an Arlington landmark? You’re in luck.
The Capitol Theatre in East Arlington is holding a design competition and is accepting submissions through the end of January, reported Wicked Local Arlington.
The prize? An outdoor mural of the winning submission will be digitally reproduced and displayed on the exterior of the theatre. And of course, there’s a $750 purse to sweeten the pot.

Artists can submit artworks created in any medium as long as the theme of the work is “the experience of going to the movies.”
Here are some submission guidelines:

- Artist must be at least 18-years-old
- Artists may submit up to three original images as high resolution JPEGS
- Each image should be labeled with the artist’s first and last names as well as the title of the submission
- Specs: 300 dpi; largest dimension should be 1200 pixels. Dimensions should be suitable for a vertical design with a ratio similar to 28 feet by 14 feet.
- Submissions should be emailed to rfraiman@feitheatres.com with the subject line “Design Competition.”
