The Elders Ensemble of Prometheus Dance, Inc. and COA in Arlington Invite you to celebrate Older American’s Month with two dance performances on Thursday May 14, 2-3 pm, Free! With Post Performance Refreshments! The Elders Ensemble is a group of 8 post-professional modern dancers aged 60 to 92 who studied with the greatof modern dance, including Martha Graham.
The value of age and experience is vital to our understanding of life as a whole. The Ensemble was formed to provide a venue to express and experience the grace and depth of artistry that only elderly dancers possess. Prometheus Dancer Elders will perform two original pieces telling stories of their lives as dancers, daughters, mothers, and friends through movement. Following the performance is a lively discussion with the audience offering an opportunity for audience members to reflect, comment, and ask questions of the dancers about the dances.
