Green Prosperity: The Market Gardens of Arlington

In 1886, a popular writer remarked that "market gardening seems to be a matter of course with everyone in Arlington!" This local "green industry" flourished because entrepreneurs such as W.W. Rawson mastered the art of growing plants in greenhouses. Join local historian Dee Morris as she discusses this amazing era of agricultural experimentation, horticultural drama, and local prosperity. This event is presented by Arlington Community Education and Sustainable Arlington, a task group of the Town of Arlington's Vision 2020 committee.
