Jewish Luck With One Ring Zero

Part of the 2011 Boston Jewish Music Festival!

Experience “gypsy-klezmer circus-flea-cartoon-music” when One Ring Zero performs a live musical score for one of silent cinema’s greatest treasures. Solomon Mikhoels is brilliant as Sholem Aleichem’s daydreaming hero whose calamitous strike-it-rich schemes are by turns hilarious and tragic. Directed by Alexander Granovsky and shot by Eduard Tisse, this 1925 Russian classic has been beautifully restored with new English intertitles by The National Center for Jewish Film. The band will do a mini-set after the film.
