Memorial Day Parade

The Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 30, 2011 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Marchers will step off at Adams Street on Massachusetts Avenue and continue on to Monument Park in Arlington Center for observances and placing of wreathes. From there the parade will reform and proceed to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Observances will be held honoring deceased veterans from all wars at the WWI, WWII, Korean, and Vietnam veterans lots. In attendance will be The American Legion Post 39, The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1775, The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 49, Marine Corps League-Lt. Stanley Benner Detachment, Gold Star Parents, state and local elected officials, The Menotomy Minutemen, The Arlington Fire Department Honor Guard, and The Arlington Police Department Honor Guard.

Please Note: On Memorial Day, Monday, May 30 all entrances to the cemetery will be closed to motor vehicles at 5 a.m.  The gates will open again around 12 p.m.  This is done to allow the parade to enter the cemetery without motor vehicle traffic.
