“Binding Threads”
Fall Quilt Exhibition at the Old Schwamb Mill
Saturday, October 1, 2:30-4:30 pm, Opening Reception for “Binding Threads.” Celebrate “Year of the Quilt” at the fall exhibition at the Old Schwamb Mill featuring the work of eight contemporary quilters. The Tuesday Morning Bee Quilters: Billie Berents, Carol Brown, Kendra Dowd, Jeanne Funk-Gedies, Janice Gould, Penny Sander, Missy Shay, and Gail Pettiford Willett, met through the larger Rising Star Quilters Guild and have been meeting twice a month for 15 years, much as women’s quilting bees have done since pioneer days. “Venice Bridges” presented as part of this exhibition, is the latest of the Bee’s group projects. The other quilts in the show are representative of the great body of work from this group of accomplished and creative women. Some of the displayed works are for sale.
