EXTENDED: Grants Available to Support Arts & Culture in Arlington
MCC Grant Application Cycle Now Open - extended to Dec. 14. to support creative projects in town
The Grants Committee of the Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture (ArtsArlington.org) announced the opening of the 2021 grant application cycle on Oct. 1.
All applications must be submitted on or before Dec. 14 (extended). Late applications will not be accepted.
An Arts and Culture grant can be used for many purposes in Arlington, such as using music or art to bring groups together, creating an experiential program that brings interpretive science or history to life for a diverse audience, completing a series of paintings, a musical composition or theatrical performance, creating or enhancing an arts program addressing social or environmental justice or cultural inclusion or actively seeking to address or expose systemic racism in Arlington and society at large.
The Grants Committee of the Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture offers grants annually that typically range from $150 to $1,000 to fund arts, humanities and interpretive science programs benefiting the community of Arlington.

Once the grant period has closed on Dec. 14, the Grants Committee will be scheduling virtual proposal presentation sessions. These sessions allow committee members to ensure they have the most complete understanding of proposals. These sessions will most likely occur in early December; all applicants will be notified of these sessions.

The ACAC Grants Committee is part of a network of Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the commonwealth. The LCC Program supports thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state Legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.
