President Ronald Reagan signed a resolution into law in 1984 proclaiming July as “National Ice Cream Month” and the third Sunday in July as “National Ice Cream Day”. He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food.
Celebrate “National Ice Cream Day” on Sunday, July 19, 2015. Not to be confused with “Ice Cream For Breakfast Day” the first Saturday of February or “National Ice Cream Sandwich Day” in August.

Sue’s Hot Fudge Sauce
Original recipe makes 1 quart
- 1 cup butter
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 cups white sugar
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) canevaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine butter, cocoa, sugar and evaporated milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and boil for 7 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Carefully pour hot mixture into a blender and blend for 2 to 4 minutes. Serve immediately. Store in refrigerator.
